Paces is the only registered school in UK which provides full-time conductive education for secondary aged children. |
Curriculum![]() |
The aim of the secondary school programme is to provide a conductive
education curriculum which serves all of the needs of the children with
cerebral palsy. The programme also considers the significant emotional
and physical changes that the young adolescents are going through at
this period in their life. Conductive Education curriculum, due to the
nature of cerebral palsy, is usually broader and more holistic than a
traditional curriculum in mainstream settings. |

All children have their own particular set of goals which will be worked towards within the group environment. Overall aims may include:

|
Review of each child’s progress takes place quarterly, usually in the half term. A written report, and if it is necessary, a modified education plan is provided. The progress of each child is digitally recorded and stored. Paces can work with parents, local education authorities, local schools and other professionals in preparing each child for transfer to the next stage of education. Following this, Paces’ sessional services can ensure smooth transition and on-going provision for the child as required. Families of children attending a fixed-term course are provided with a written report on the child’s progress as well as advice and support on how to build on the progress that has been made at Paces.

If you wish to apply for a placement in School you will need to return a completed application form and GP Form to us as soon as possible. You will then be invited to attend an initial consultation in which the conductor, using information from the application form and from discussions with you, will identify the needs and goals which are a priority for you and your child. Information would then be given on the specific ways Conductive Education can help your child. |
