Leaping The Void

Programme for Young Adults

As a result of the success of the School, the charity decided that Conductive Education should be offered to young adults to help them adapt to the world outside of school and to keep fit & healthy.  Leaping the Void (LtV) was created.

Disabled adults involved in our LtV programme have the chance to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to help them make choices and lead more independent lifestyles learning about other opportunities available to them.  The programme is designed to develop skills in self-care and independence.  Our activities include:

- Art enterprise project:  design, make and sell items such as             canvasses, paintings, cards, felt scarves, bags etc.

- Money management

- Personal, social and health related matters

- Food - plan, prepare and cook meals

- Personal plan for learning linked to interests e.g. animals, sport, music, photography etc

The aim is to encourage everyone in our programme to get involved in our enterprise so that they can understand an aspect of demand in the market and experience satisfying that demand which, we are told by those that attend, is highly rewarding and motivating.
